About Mary Jo King, NCRW
In 30 years of writing for individuals and businesses, I’ve produced copy for a wide range of marketing and creative projects. Now more than 5,000 résumés, 1,200 radio commercials, and assorted scripts, business proposals, marketing slicks, and newsletters into my career, I’m comfortable with most any writing project.
Although writing has always been part of the story, my path is book-ended by career services. Early in my career, I started the Denver franchise of a national résumé writing company. A year later, having demonstrated my success to corporate headquarters, I was recruited to serve as Regional Director. I ultimately supervised operations in a 5-state region of 23 offices, most of which I had opened.
After leaving Professional Résumé & Writing Service, I enjoyed a consulting and media career, working with small business owners to develop marketing solutions that supported start-up operations, conquered business challenges, and capitalized on opportunities. I left corporate media at the end of the last decade to open my own consulting and writing practice.
Now in my 7th year of private practice and my 4th year of board service for The National Résumé Writers’ Association, I am the 2017 President-Elect and a Nationally Certified Résumé Writer (NCRW).
As the name of my company suggests, I like to create partnerships. You are the expert in your business, and I am the expert in mine. Together, we can create something special. Your satisfaction is both paramount and guaranteed.
As defined on The National Résumé Writers' Association website: "Nationally Certified Resume Writers must first prove their seniority in and commitment to the resume-writing industry by presenting the certification commission with evidence of recent training and development.
"Applicants take part in a rigorous three-part exam administered by The National Resume Writers' Association (The NRWA). Our exam, like the pre-qualifying process, is one of the most challenging in the industry. The only way a writer can earn the NCRW certification is by demonstrating a high level of expertise in resume strategy, business writing, grammar and punctuation, proofreading, and electronic resume preparation.
"Upon receiving their credential, NCRWs have proven themselves several times over to be the best in their field. They are consummate professionals, dedicated to upholding the highest standards in the business. NCRWs must acquire CEs annually to maintain their certification, which keeps them on the cutting edge of this ever-changing industry."
The National Resume Writer's Association
